Kannada Rajyotsava Speech In Kannada 2023

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls,

I extend my heartfelt greetings to all the respected elders, teachers, parents, and dear friends gathered here today on this auspicious occasion of Kannada Rajyotsava.

Today, we come together to celebrate the birth of the state of Karnataka, our beloved land, and its rich culture and heritage. The beauty of our state lies not just in its breathtaking landscapes, but in the diverse and harmonious people who call it home.

Our Karnataka, also known as "Shrighand, Calendar, Nadu of Kannadambhi," is a land blessed by the bountiful rivers, rolling hills, and a vibrant culture that has been celebrated by poets, saints, and thinkers throughout history.

On November 1, we all unite to commemorate this special day. But why do we celebrate Kannada Rajyotsava? It's essential to understand the significance of this day. On November 1, Karnataka is celebrated as a state festival or Mirror Day.

It is also known as the day of Karnataka's formation. In 1956, the state of Mysore was reorganized to include all Kannada-speaking regions in South India.

The name "Karnataka" itself holds a special meaning. It is derived from the Sanskrit word "Kannada," which means the language of the land.

The word "Karnataka" represents the black soil, the Kannadu, the essence of our culture. There are various interpretations of the word's origin, but what matters most is that Karnataka is a land of immense diversity and rich heritage.

The dream of unifying Karnataka was nurtured by visionary leaders like Aloe Wenkaterav, who initiated the Karnataka integration movement in 1905. Thanks to their tireless efforts, our state came into existence. The formation of Karnataka on November 1, 1956, marked the beginning of a new era.

The decision to change the state's name from Mysore to Karnataka on November 1, 1973, was a significant milestone in our history. Devaraj Arasu, the chief minister at that time, played a pivotal role in this decision.

Other notable individuals, such as Kuevpu, Masti Venkatesh Iyengar, K Shivarama Karant, A N Krishna Rao, and B M Shriakatiah, also contributed to the integration and development of our state.

On this special day, the red and yellow mirror flag is proudly hoisted across the state, and celebrations are filled with joy and enthusiasm. The melodious Kannada song "Jaya Karnataka" resounds in our hearts, unifying us all.

Now that we understand the history and significance of Kannada Rajyotsava, it is our responsibility, as the children of Kannadambay, to preserve our rich culture and heritage.

We must continue speaking, reading, and writing in Kannada to keep our language alive. Let us pledge to be responsible citizens of Karnataka, promoting our language, culture, and legacy. By doing so, we ensure that the flame of our traditions continues to burn bright.

In conclusion, I would like to express my gratitude to all of you for your patience and attention. Jai Kannadambe, Jai Karnataka Matte! Let us celebrate this Kannada Rajyotsava with pride, unity, and a commitment to preserving our rich heritage. Thank you.
