Young people are exposed to gore images of murder violence video footage of gun shootings, n*dism, explicit, s*xual c**doms, and these gory mages are in the domain of young people and they think the world is not a safer place to live in

But the truth is 90% of the earth is safer than heaven with untrap opportunities, too much social media may also lead to addiction

This is a generation where you see people sitting next to each and staring at their mobile phones rather than having a face-to-face interaction

The first thing after they wake up they do is check their mobile phones and the last thing before going to bed they do is check their updates

Young people are also obsessed with social media they're obsessed with the number of likes and comments they get daily

They work tirelessly to buy new outfits visit exotic places trying new mills just to post them on social media

The kind of crime that comes into our mind when talking about social media is cyberbullying where the fake ones bully humiliate or insult the real ones

Outside watchers may be may think that they're just having fun but the truth is the one who is being insulted or humiliated is being affected a lot

Impact of social media on youth essay conclusion

Social media has astounding growth and popularity in this recent years, among young adults and teenagers.

Internet sites such as Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter play a dominant role in the everyday lives of teenagers. These internet sites have both positive and negative impacts on teenagers.

What is the impact of social media on teenagers?

 The positive impact first

One of the positive impacts of social media is that it helps teenagers to stay connected with their peers even though they live miles apart.

It has created a borderless world thus allowing teenagers to befriend people all around the world.

Social media also provides a platform where teenagers can make a group of friends based on their common interests and topics that are relevant to their lives.

All of this has made teenagers' lives more efficient and easier. Other than that, social media also has created confidence among socially awkward teenagers to communicate with people all around the world without the fear of being judged.

Another positive impact of social media is that it helps teenagers to express their hidden talents without any fear or anxiety.

This has been proven by the outbreak of Covid-19, most teenagers spend their time covering some songs, making Tik Toks, and making dance covers by using platforms like Youtube, Tik Tok, and Instagram.

It somehow kills teenagers' anxiety and helps them to express their feelings even more.

While on one hand social media helps teenagers to stay connected with their friends, it also created social isolation.

Teenagers tend to spend most of their time on their electronic gadgets which means they rarely have face-to-face interaction with their friends or even with their family members.

Social isolation could be really bad if teenagers could not handle it well. Social isolation could lead to emotional problems such as depression and anxiety.

Another negative impact of social media is that it is being an ideal platform for online predators to target underage victims.

It also decreases the productivity of employees who spends time chatting with their friends rather than working.

Other than it creating social isolation, being an ideal platform for online predators to target underage victims, social media also has successfully created cyberbullies among teenagers.

Most teenagers do this cyberbullying out of fun and have led most teenagers also to fall into depression.

Depression is not something that we can show nor we can assume someone that seems happy to not have any depression because this is based on my true story where I had a friend; She is a happy girl and she seems like someone whose not in any problems at all.

Social networking via online media definitely portrays both positive and negative impacts on teenagers.

It is therefore important for us to be responsible users and to exercise caution during online interaction.

Conclusion:

In short, it is always better to be safe than sorry. If you are uncomfortable with any direction of the conversation, withdraw politely from any further interaction.

The Impact of Social Media on Teenagers Essay

Over two hours are spent on social media every day with an estimation of more than 5 billion monthly active social media users by the year 2024 with this ever-increasing number

What are the actual effects of social media?

While social media sites are designed to keep you online as long as possible and therefore have an element of addiction how does this addiction actually work well when using social media there is an increase in the neurotransmitter dopamine

Dopamine is strongly associated with the reward pathway in the brain and elevates a person's mood and gives a sense of accomplishment

The downside to this is that activities such as walking the dog, spending time with family and friends, or keeping active no longer meet the high level of dopamine requirement

So therefore these activities are often seen as boring or like chores a person is likely to avert their attention from these activities to spend more time gaining their dopamine hid from social media which can significantly lower a person's self-esteem

Many people go into their social media accounts and look at their friends and idols enjoying life partying traveling and having amazing experiences

But what many people fail to realize is that these experiences are the best highlights of the person's life they do not show the day-to-day struggle they may be going through

However, this type of filtered exposure can make a person feel inadequate and insecure

After leaving the person being themselves or thinking about why their life does not match the ones inaccurately portrayed on social media

The other side of this coin is that it can in fact make a person extremely narcissistic and attention-seeking

People often put on what they feel would get the most likes positive feedback and followers going down this road can lead to the person constantly wanting and in some cases needing positive feedback

Doing things to cater to their follower's wants and needs results in living life to other people's expectations

People living life like this are likely to be unhappy and feel very secluded and alone

Social media can affect a person's social skills when speaking to people online is often very brief or you have copious amounts of time to reply back

In-person, however, a response is expected within seconds with many other factors playing a role that drives the converse such as body language vocal projection eye contact, and hand gestures

These are all important tools we use to communicate with one another

However, communication on social media eradicates these social cues, and therefore when it comes to real-life communication a person is deemed socially awkward when out of practice

Social media can be used to connect with people all over the world therefore you may meet someone you would never come across during your day-to-day life

So it can help form new bonds and friendships it can also be used as a great educational tool

If you find yourself spending an absurd amount of time using these sites just remember time is of the essence you only have a limited amount of time with your loved ones chasing your dreams enjoying your hobbies and creating new ones do you really want to spend it looking at the screen all day.

  4. Well, I think that parents should reduce the time that children spend at the computer. It is absolutely useless, if not harmful to teenagers.

  5. What nonsense. There are so many great games, among which there are useful, educational, cognitive games. If you are a stupid parent, you will simply forbid your children from using the computer. But a smart parent will pay attention to this, find quality online games and offer them to the child. It can be both a pleasant pastime and a useful activity at the same time.

  6. As a delighted reader, I must say this essay brilliantly captures the dual nature of social media's impact on teenagers. It's like a rollercoaster ride through the highs of connectivity to the lows of cyberbullying and social isolation. The author's insight into how platforms like Facebook and TikTok shape teenage lives is spot on. However, let's not forget, amidst the chaos, there's always a silver lining—like how social media empowers teens to express themselves and showcase hidden talents. It's a wild digital world out there, but hey, at least we're in it together! Speaking of digital adventures, why not take a break and explore some online games on my website: https://kizi-mizi.com. Happy gaming, folks!

Impact of Social Media on Youth
Social media has profoundly influenced the lives of today's youth. It has revolutionized communication, enabling instant connectivity and global interaction. However, it also fosters superficial relationships and validation-seeking behavior. Social media platforms serve as arenas for self-expression, shaping identities but also exposing youth to comparison and pressure. They influence societal trends and norms, promoting both activism and unrealistic standards. Moreover, excessive social media use correlates with increased rates of anxiety, depression, and cyberbullying among youth. Balancing its benefits and pitfalls requires promoting digital literacy and responsible usage to ensure young people navigate these platforms safely and constructively.
