BS. Rao, whose full name is Dr Boppana Satyanarayana Rao, Rao was the founder and chairman of Sri Chaitanya Group of Educational Institutions. 

He was born in Andhra Pradesh, and died on 13 July 2023, in Visakhapatnam. Born on August 15, 1947, in Angaluru village within the Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh, Dr Rao hailed from the Brahmin community and was part of a family of six siblings. 

After obtaining his undergraduate degree from a local university, he practised medicine for 16 years in both the United Kingdom and Iran. In the year 1986, he and his wife, Dr Jhansi Lakshmi Bai, who was also a qualified medical professional, returned to India. 

They established the Sri Chaitanya Girls Junior College in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh. Their primary objective was to offer high-quality education and career guidance, focusing particularly on students, especially girls, who lacked awareness of the diverse opportunities within the technological domain.

Subsequently, their efforts led to the expansion of their educational network across the nation, encompassing a range of colleges and schools. These institutions provided comprehensive courses, covering intermediate studies, engineering, medical studies, IIT-JEE, NEET, CA-CPT, and various other competitive examinations. 

Dr Rao was a visionary leader in the field of education. He led a change in the Telugu states' intermediate education system that allowed hundreds of thousands of students to realize their dreams of enrolling in prestigious schools and pursuing successful jobs. 

Dr BS Rao's demise has left a large hole in the field of education and caused extreme anguish among his followers, colleagues, and friends. 

His remains were brought to Vijayawada, where brought to Vijayawada, where the last rites were performed on July 14, 2023, at Sri Chaitanya College's main campus in Tadigadapa.
