I wish all of you a very Happy Independence Day.  Today we are honoured to address him on the 72nd Independence Day. A day when we remember all the glory of our nation.  As we remember the struggles, rebellions of Indian freedom fighters and the efforts of our Indian freedom fighters.  In my view, freedom is a very precious gift of Indian freedom fighters.  I would like to thank you once again for your attention and for giving me the opportunity to speak before you. 1. Lata Mangeshkar was one of the best-known Playback Singers.

2. lata Mangeshkar also known as the 'Nightingale of India' and 'Queen of Melody'.

1) Lata Mangeshkar was born in 1929 in Indore(Present-day in Madhya Pradesh)

2) She is the eldest daughter of Pandit Deenanath Mangeshkar, a Marathi and Konkani musician and Shevanti (Mother)

3) Her father was a classical singer and theatre actor.

4) Lata Mangeshkar received her 1st music lesson from her father. At the age of 5, she started to work as an actress in her father's musical plays.


5) In 1942, when Lata Mangeshkar was 13, her father died of heart disease. Master Vinayak, the owner of a movie company helped Lata Mangeshkar to get started asma singer and actress.

6) After Vinayak died in 1948, music director Ghulam Haider mentored her as a singer. Haider gave Lata Mangeshkar her 1st major break with a song in the movie 'Majboor' (1948)

7) In an interview on her 84th birthday, Latam Mangeshkar herself declared "Ghulam Haider' as her Godfather. He was the 1st music director who showed complete faith in her talent

8) In the 1950s, Lata Mangeshkar sang songs composed by various music directors. Later she became one of the best-known playback singers and music directors. She has recorded songs in over 1000 Hindi films and has sung songs in over 36 regional Indian languages and foreign languages

9) Lata Mangeshkar won 4 times Filmfare Award for Best Female Playback singer

10) Lata Mangeshkar has won several awards and honours, including the Bharat Ratna, Padma Bhushan, Padma Vibhushan, Dadasaheb Phalke Award and many more.
