The name of the chapter is 'The Last Lesson' this lesson is written by Alphonse doubted. In his lesson, he gave the message of patriotism to his students and countrymen. this story centres on Hound M. Hamel a patriotic teacher. 

He gave forty years to the school as a result of the defeat, Alsace and Louvain passed into Prussia hands. The new teacher was coming the next day. M. Hamel, a teacher blamed the parents for the neglect of learning on the part of boys like Franz. because their parents wanted them to work on farms to earn some money. Franz himself wanted to enjoy his time and thus, avoided going to school. 

2. What do you think is the theme story of The Last Lesson. ? 

The Last Leason by Alphonse Daudet is mainly about the longing to learn the mother tongue and love for it. It has a sense of patriotism. The Puissions Mejected the freedom of the people of Lorraine and Alsace to learn their own mother tongue. 

The colonizers took away the basic rights of the people. When students could not learn their own language, they sense a feeling of being restricted and missed learning French. The story throws light upon the utmost pride in one's mother tongue and considering other languages not equally worthy.
