1) Parliament refers to the National legislature in India.

2) It consists of the President and two houses.

3) The two houses are the Council of States and the House of the People. 

4) The House of the people is called Lok Sabha.

5) Lok Sabha is the Lower house of the Parliament.

6) Members of the Lok Sabha are directly elected by the people.

7) The term period of members is 5 years. 

8) A member of the Lok Sabha represents each constituency. At present in India, there are 543 constituencies.

9) Parliament is composed of 545 members. 543 are elected from constituencies and 2 are appointed by the President of India.

10) The Lok Sabha has the power to initiate and pass laws. It also approves the annual budget of the Central Government.
