Pongal festival is also known as Thai Pongal. This is a festival of four days. Bhogi, Surya, Mattu, and Kanya are celebrated in the name of Pongal.

This festival holds great importance for the farmers as rice is cultivated there and the rice crops require a lot of water to grow well.

Lord Indra is worshipped on the day of Pongal because according to mythology Lord Indra is the God of rain and clouds.

On the day of Pongal, people get up early in the morning and bathe in the holy rivers. On this day people wear new clothes or traditional dresses.

Delicious dishes, sweets, and rice dishes are made in everyone's homes. On this day people worship the Sun God and Lord Indra and offer food to them.

I pray to God that every year the best crops grow in all the fields and granaries is full in all the countries. May the festival of Pongal brings happiness to everyone's life.
