It was played in the National Stadium. A large number of spectators had gathered there. The teachers of both schools also came there.

The match started at 9 am. In the beginning, the match was boring and dull. During the first half, no team could score a goal.

Our team earned four penalty corners but to no avail. At the very beginning of the second half, the opposite team scored a goal.

Now our team was making fierce attacks to equalize the score. At last, it succeeded in scoring a goal with a lucky scoop in the "D".

Now both the teams were equal. Hence the match became offensive and defensive. Both the teams were trying their best to win the match by scoring only one goal.

Last Sunday I saw a very interesting hockey match. It was played between the Khalsa School and Guru Har Krishan Public School. Mr. Dhyan Chand and Balbir Singh acted as referees.

It was played at Ram Lila Grounds. A large number of students and teachers had come to watch the match. The referee blew a long whistle and the captains of both the teams went forward.

A coin was tossed in the air. The Khalsa's won the toss and chose their favorable side. Both the teams were in their respective uniforms.

The Khalsa players had blue shirts and white shorts while the players of Guru Har Krishan Public School had white shirts and white shorts.

The match started at 3 pm it was quite brisk from the very beginning. The Khalsa's pressed hard but could not score a goal.

They got two short corners but failed to score. Their center forward moved at an amazing speed. But he was checked by the full-backs of the competitors.

The ball was passed and re-passed like a shuttlecock. Neither side could score a goal. So, the first half was eventless. After the half-time interval, the teams changed their sides.

The game began again. The players of Guru Har Krishan Public School got a short corner and scored a goal.

There were shouts of joy from the supporters of Guru Har Kishan Public School and also from the spectators. Sticks went up in the air.

But during the next few minutes, the Khalsas scored an equalizer. Shouts of joy from the Khalsa side dominated the sky.

The game became more interesting. The Khalsa's rushed forward. Their captain played very nicely. He ran with the ball into D and hit it hard.

But the goalkeeper of the rivals was very active and alert. He checked the ball and thus, foiled all attempts of the rival team.

The spectators shouted with joy. Now the time was almost over. Each side tried hard to win the game. But all their efforts came to naught.

The referee blew the long whistle and declared that the game was over. They were given extra time to play.

Now, each side tried hard to score a goal. But neither team could succeed. Thus, the match ended in a draw. It was a well-contested match.
