India did not get independence overnight it was a struggle of almost 200 years the entire country became a battlefield and everyone contributed in our ever possible way to fight against the British but some places played a crucial role in getting independence for India.

Bombay is now called Mumbai and it is the capital of Maharashtra the foundation of the Indian national congress in 1885 was one of the most important political events that took place in Bombay. The quit India movement was launched from Bombay in 1942 by Mahatma Gandhi, the city played an important role in the Indians.


Independence movement Barrackpore 

Barrackpore is in West Bengal the famous rebellion of 1857 started from Barrackpore Mangal Pandey declared war against his commanders in the Barrackpore Indians poised revolt against British officers this part of the first war of independence the revolt of the sepoys spread from Barrackpore to Meerut and then to the many civil populations joined hands with the spoils.

Jhansi the spark of the spoils reached Jhansi the city of Jhansi also known as the city of rani Lakshmi BaiJhansi is located in Uttar Pradesh Britishers and next to the princely state of Jhansi under the policy of doctrine of lapse therapy refusing to accept the adopted son of rani as here to the throne when war broke out Jhansi became the centre of the rebellion in central India Lakshmi bai is one of the most famous and caucus females she fought the Britishers with a kid on her back.


Amritsar, Punjab 

The Jallianwala Bagh in Amritsar is testimony to one of the most gruesome acts of violence in human history. The Jallianwala Bagh massacre that took place on 13 April 1919 fueled the fire of vengeance and protest among the revolutionary groups of India. Reginald Dyer, a British army commander, was the man behind this brutal homicide as he ordered his army to open fire on the innocent crowd of non-violent protesters and Baisakhi pilgrims, who had gathered peacefully at the Jallianwala Maidan. Jallianwala Bagh was no less than a turning point for India's freedom struggle.


Chittagong, Bangladesh


 Located in present-day Bangladesh, Chittagong is the place that is famous for the Chittagong armoury raid in 1930. Surya Sen, a brave revolutionary and a group of young fundamentalists, had planned to lay siege to the police armoury in Chittagong. . Surya Sen and his army took over the police armoury. He cut the telegraph lines and unfurled the national flag.


Champaran, Bihar


Champaran saw the first Satyagraha movement in 1917, which gained historical importance in the Indian freedom struggle. Started by Mahatma Gandhi, it was a non-violent movement against the British that forced Indian farmers to cultivate indigo used for dying clothing, not allowing them to grow the crops they needed to survive. Champaran was the place that later became the turning point for the politics of non-violence.


Chauri Chaura, Uttar Pradesh


The Chauri-Chaura incident in Gorakhpur district of Uttar Pradesh in 1922 is also the reason for the struggle of Indians to get rid of British oppression. The incident took place when a large group of protesters participating in the non-corporation movement clashed with the police in return for which the police opened fire on them. In response, the protesters showed their anger by setting the police station on fire. This retaliation sent a message to the British that Indians were not going to back down under any circumstances.


Kakori, Uttar Pradesh


The Kakori case is the most talked about when it comes to the Indian independence movement. Its purpose was to rob the train carrying money from the treasury of the British government. The plan was shaped by the fearless duo Ram Prasad Bismil and Ashfaqullah Khan, who decided to buy weapons with the money looted. The Kakori incident emerged as the basis for the ground activities that took place during the freedom struggle.


Dandi, Gujarat


The most influential protest ever, the Dandi March, also known as the Salt Satyagraha, was launched by Mahatma Gandhi in 1930, which marked the beginning of the Civil Disobedience Movement. The basis of this movement was to revolt against the increased tax imposed by the British on salt. Dandi March changed the world scenario giving a new face to India's freedom struggle.


Lahore, Punjab (now in Pakistan)


The city of Lahore was the centre of the Indian independence movement. The Congress of 1929 met in Lahore, the first time India's independence was declared on 31 December. At the Lahore session, the Indian National Flag (Tricolor) was adopted as the national flag, and 26 January was declared as the Independence Day for India. Sardar Bhagat Singh, the great freedom fighter of India's freedom struggle, was hanged here.

India was a slave of the British for about 200 years, although the country was divided into various Princely states during that period, this Independence moo0vement also made the country aware of many true patriots like Bhagat Singh, Chandrashekar Azad, Mangal Pandey, Shubhash Chandra Bose.

Although the freedom struggle was fought all over India, some places have a special place in the freedom movement.

Ahmedabad was the nerve centre of the Indian freedom moment, Mahatma Gandhi, the father of the nation is course made it his home in 1915. Jalliawalah Bagh, a place that was rocked by the shrieks of hundreds of innocents people trying to escape the indiscriminate firing by the British Soldiers.

Wagah Border, it is the border with Pakistan and the place where a colourful beating retreat ceremony takes place every evening, It lies some 30 Kilometers from the city of Amritsar.

The Andaman and Nicobar island of India is where the cellular Jail or Kala pain of yore is situated, It is here that the British imprisoned the freedom fighters who were fighting for India's INDEPENDENCE.

Banglore, the city known for its garden and contemporary times its parks has also played its part in the history of Indian's freedom struggle. 

Champaran in Bihar is famous for being the site of the first satyagraha in India. 

These are only some of the places where the brave heart of India fought for the freedom of the country. In every corner of the country, Millions of unsung freedom warriors fought for the freedom of the motherland.

If we even wonder what freedom is, we can look around and seed the birds flying high up in the sky freedom. Freedom is quite commonly quoted by people but everyone will have a different meaning of this term.

Freedom is a precious gift for everyone, everyone wants to live freedom, Indian has been under British rule for 200 years approximately. There we a lot of brave hearts who laid down their lives for the freedom of India.

There are many famous freedom fighters who fought for their motherland, Mahatma Gandhi, Bhagat Singh, Mangal Pandey, Dada Bhai Naroji, Netaji Shubhash Chandra bose, etc. even lost their lives to get security for our country.

" Once dream was to liberate the country will al the struggle to make British free India".

Our country went through many stages to get freedom. In which there were many movements from time to time like the revolution of 1857, Swadesh adopts, Simon go back, Chauri Choura Incident, Quit India moment etc. 

All these movements were related to different places. In other words, the whole of India was making every effort at its level for freedom. In 1857 Revolt Barrackpore, Jhansi, Bombay, Calcutta, Champaran, Jallianwala, Kakari, Lahore, Dandi, Ahmedabad etc. Every place was desperate to get freedom.

Our India is known as "Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat". who foundation has been laid by being tied in now thread to get freedom from different places? So in the end we can say that different places have played an important role in the Independence of India.


Paragraph writing freedom struggle of India

Indian Freedom Struggle is one of the most significant progress in the history of India. It is essential for the new generation to know certain lessons from India to get a struggle of India to get an insight into the movement and event that led to independence.

British people entered the objective to trade certain items like silk, tea and cotton and slowly started ruling the country. They gradually started to create chaos in India and made Indian people their slaves. Therefore, India went through some of the hardest times to gain Independence foe British rule and the forest movement against the British was initiated in the year 1857  by Mangal Pandey who was an Indian Soldier. 

There are were various other movements that helped Indan to get Independence some of which were the civil disobedience movement this movement was started against the British monopoly on salt on which India can not trade and manufacture it and have to buy salt from British people to buy paying huge sums of money.

The Quit India movement was another hope for India to gain Independence. This movement was instigated by Mahatma Gandhi and Indian National Congress on August 8, 1942, during the 2nd world war. This movement was started to end the British rule in  India, However, it proved to be unsuccessful but the Britishers realised that their power is declining gradually in India.

Also, in the year 1943, the Indan National Army was formed to impel the British out of Inda. Soon the Britishers settled on an agreement and decided to move out of India which consequently took effect on 15th August 1947 and India gained Independence.

Our various soldiers and freedom fighters sacrificed their lives and were sentenced to death in order to make India free from British rule.

India has a vast history of freedom struggle and there were various events including Simon Commission, Rowlatt Act, Jillian Wala Bagh Massacre and many more movements that helped India to acquire Independence.

When we celebrate Independence Day, we must remember that India did not get independence overnight. It was a struggle of almost 200 years, to get freedom our countrymen had to go through innumerable difficulties and fighting someone so strong was not an easy task. Barrackpore, West Bengal

The famous revolt of 1857 started from Barrackpore when a sepoy Mangal Pandey declared war against his commanders.


Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh

The city of Jhansi, also known as the city of Rani Lakshmi Bai, Lakshmi Bai is one of the most famous women soldiers important to Indian independence.
Bombay (now Mumbai), Maharashtra
Bombay was an important place during India's independence movement. The Congress (now the Indian National Congress) was founded in Bombay by Allan Octavian Hume.


Calcutta, (now Kolkata), West Bengal

Calcutta remained the centre of Indian nationalism during the Indian freedom struggle.


Champaran, Bihar


Champaran Satyagraha was the first successful achievement of Mahatma Gandhi after coming back from India.


Jallianwala Bagh, Punjab

Jallianwala Bagh is known for the Jallianwala Bagh massacre that took place on 13 April 1919.

Dandi, Gujarat

It is famous for the Dandi March, also known as the Salt Satyagraha, started by Mahatma Gandhi.
