We all are familiar with what an elephant looks like and probably its distinct physical features. What we don't seem to know is how precious they are to the environment and ecology. 

They are commercially used by humans and provide bread and butter to millions of families, only in the Indian subcontinent alone. 

Domestication of Asian Elephants-

Asian elephants are domesticated for a number of purposes including transport, shifting heavy loads, as a status symbol, during religious processions, in temples, etc. 

Many families in the Indian subcontinent rely entirely on the elephant for earning their livelihoods. Thousands of animals in India and other Asian countries are currently under domestication for several purposes. 

Population and Threats-

According to the 2017 census, there are a total of around 27,000 elephants, which is around 55% of the total world population. 

Their endangered status since 1986 has helped in improving its population considerably. Prior to that, they were poached heavily for their tusk and other body parts. 

Though, the illegal trade and poaching almost stopped, shrinking habitat is the most immediate threat that the Asian elephant faces. Habitat destruction is leading to rising human-elephant conflict which is damaging for both. 

Elephants have been known to venturing into villages in search of food, to which the inhabitants panic and resort in a way that often injures or frightens the animals, making them consider humans as their enemies. 

Conclusion- 

Shrinking elephant habitat is not good for the elephants or for humans as well. Governments and animal rights groups must chart out an effective plan to retain the natural habitat of elephants without compromising the livelihood of humans.

An elephant is a very big animal on the earth, It has four legs like large pillars, two big ears its long trunk and a short tail on the back, the male elephant are leaves, plants, grain, fruits etc. they are very clever and obedient, elephants are found in Africa and Asia, Generally, the elephant is in grey colour and in Thailand, they are of white colour.

The lifespan of elephants is more than 100 years, Elephants live and circuses, the growth of elephants is around 11 feets in height and 1300 pounds in weight, a single elephant can eat 400 pounds of food and drinks 330 gallons of water daily.

Elephant skin is one inch thick and very sensitive, they have the capacity to hear the sounds from long distance around 5 miles away, the make elephant start living alone when they become adult and and however female lives in a group, 

The oldest female of a group called as matriach, the elephants have so much intelligence, excellent herinf power, and good sense of smell but they have poor eyesight.

The elephats looks so attractive to kids because of interesting features like their two giant ears, two long tusk, found pillar like legs, a huge trnk, a huge body, two small eyes, and a short tail, The trunk is used to eat food, drink water, bath, breathe, smell carry road etc.

The elephant is considered as very smart and never forget any event happened in their life, the communicate in very low sound with each other the baby elephants are called calf, elephants are also coming under the category of mammals as they give birth to a baby and feed their milk, the baby elephants take 20 to 22 months to get fully developed inside its mother wobm, 

No there animal take such long time to develop before birth, female elephant give birth to a single at the time of birth the baby is of 85 cm tall and 120 kg heavy, the baby elephants take more than 1 years to lean the trunk , A baby elephants can drink 10 liters of milk daily.

They are very useful animal to the human whole life and after death also, their various parts are used to make precious thing all over the world, the bones are tusks are used to make hooks for brushes, knife, comb, bangles including other fancy things, an ordaniry people cannoth offord to keep elephants at home.

They are very claim in nature and when teased they can be very angery and dangerous as they can destroy anything even kill the people, they obey its keeper very sincerely till death.

Elephants are at risk because of their size, prized ivory  tusks, hunting etc. so, they thpuls be protected in order to maintain their availability on the earth.

Tthe elephant is the largest animal on land, It has thick legs, huge sides and back, large hanging ears, small tails, little eyes, long white tusk and a long while tusk and a long nose, Its nose  is called the tusk, elephants look very clumsy and heavy, yet it can move very quickly, elephants are found in Nepal, India, Thailad and Africa. 

The elephants live in herds in the jungle it is herbivores animal, the elephant is very intelligent animal, it is a very stong animal but it is used, if it is trained well, a person called mahout drives an elephant he sits on the back of the elephant and drives it.

The mahout has a good as a weapon to control it, people catch many elephants alive to to tame and make trained, but it is a difficult and dangerous job, though the elephant is shy, it can be dangerous enemy when it is angery.

Elephant are very useful animals for people they can be the property of a nation, people should preserve them in the jungle providing suitable environment, we should stop deforestation, we should preserve their habitat to save the biggest animal.
